Welcome to my website!

My name is Thomas E. Hedden, but my friends call me Jene.
I hold Master's Degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville.
I have worked in the mental health field for more than 40 years.  I served for many years as Director of Psychiatry for Norton Healthcare.  After I retired from Norton, I founded and ran Shelby Counseling Associates for several years before selling that business and joining Whitten Psychological Services until my retirement.  I am honored to have been named a member of the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Now fully retired,  I live and work on a Kentucky Bicentennial Farm which has been part of our family tradition for more than 150 years.  I have been happily married to my lovely high school sweetheart for almost 50 years, and my bride and I have two grown children and four wonderful grandchildren.
I have been an adult Bible study class leader for many years and recently started a new Baby Boomer ministry at my church.  In addition, I remain active in a number of community organizations.  Among my interests are gardening, travel and photography...especially of my grand-kids!
I created this site because I have a heart for Boomer issues.  I believe today's older citizens have the opportunity to live richer, fuller lives than any generation before us.  I hope this website will give local Boomers a chance to share the adventure of getting older...the laughter, the tears, the aches and pains, and the changes in our bodies, minds and relationships.
We're so much more than our age.  We have much to contribute to the world and each other.
